ABOUT AYA

Aya Sakai is a finance and strategy professional with experience across renewable energy investment, structured finance, and human capital development. Most recently a Vice President at the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), Aya has advised on multibillion-euro infrastructure transactions, including offshore and onshore wind power acquisitions in the UK and Japan. She brings a unique cross-sector perspective, having worked across energy project finance, HR strategy, and international operations—including at DBJ Europe in London. Aya is also passionate about building inclusive organizations and was the youngest and first female new graduate recruiter at DBJ, where she led award-winning marketing efforts that significantly increased female applicant representation. She combines financial rigor with a human-centered approach to strategic transformation. Aya is currently pursuing her MBA at IESE Business School in Barcelona.
